We are trying to buy a house that is 30 years old and has copper plumbing. but the house was vacant for 6 months and was winetrized. however when the utilities were turned on water poured out from the drywall ceiling(light fixtures) in the basement. the owners said that the plumber says it was beacuse of the water filteration system in the kitchen burst and the water came out through teh basement ceiling. Is this possible? Now taht water went in the drywall beams in the basement ceiling is that a problem? how can that ceiling be dried? will that grow mildew mold in there. Is ity necessary to tear down the drywall and replace it or is it going to loose shape. thanks for your suggestions.
