subflooring sawing

Posted by skip on September 1st, 2002 07:14 AM

at the top of my cabin stairs i have a relatively small landing (4x4') that has exposed particle board subflooring (was originally going to carpet it). i would like to remove it and put in some tongue and groove hard pine flooring.

i know i will have to scab on some joists in places to have a nailing surface etc. but my question concerns cutting out the old subflooring. i am wondering what kind of saw or method i can use to cut the subflooring very close to the exisiting trim (which because of the construction would be very hard to remove). because part of the landing extends into a closet i don't have a lot of vertical height for something like a reciprocating saw. thanks
