In reply to Kilz primer available in both oil and latex by BobF on July 20th, 1999 08:01 AM [Go to top of thread]

Our 20-year old house had bad stains on ceiling,I removed the original textured ceiling paint by scraping it off (wasn't too hard to do as drywall was never primed to begin with.)

I Primed bedroom ceiling with "Kilz Total One" to cover stains, allowed it to dry a day, then covered it with True Value E-Z Kare Acrylic Latex mixed with the textured sand to give it a light textured look again and let it dry. Only noticed typical new paint smell. Then a week or so later, an unbelievably strong oder was and still is present. Tried Ventilating the room by opening windows, however it didn't work. Any suggestions?
