I've just bought a Georgian/Victorian house with numerous period features I'm looking to restore.
The dining room has a splendid fireplace surround, painted a long time ago (so probably lead paint) in an 'orrible pale green gloss paint.
Imagine my delight when I scraped a small area to discover a beautiful white marble underneath!
Any suggestions as to be approach for removal?
Scraping off I am worried about damage, paint stripper I'm worried about staining, any ideas?
