stripping interior woodwork - reality check

Thanks for your info - especially the part about no paint grade wood used in 1928 - that makes perfect sense. I have also tried CitriStrip with good, but very slow, results. My alternative idea is to remove the moldings for professional tank stripping, but the picture railings look very difficult to remove. I assume they are only attached by nails but they seem to be VERY securely attached. Any experience in this area?
