Brad, I would think that tape will be the only way of doing this easily.

Use the blue Painters tape. This will not pull anything away when you withdraw the tape.

You can find this blue tape in about the width that you want your stripes.

The bleed through is tough and sometimes you might have to touch up, but the blue tape will not do that as much. Make sure you push the tape down on the textured walls good. Then right after your paint or spray, then pull the tape off.
