The floor you have down is not suitable for ceramic tile, and luan is a bad choice. Luan is what we used years ago, when we had nothing better. It will most likely fail due to the sapp in the wood. The proper installation requires a 1/4 inch backer board mortared and nailed down, I like a cement board called WONDER BOARD, and a TEC thinset mortar #345 sturdi flex.
