We have a stippled ceiling in our bathroom. We just expanded the area by knocking out a useless wall. The problem is that we are having trouble trying to match the stippled pattern. It is obviously done with a stomp/stipple brush but we just can't get it matched. The guy helping us out came close which we can live with. He, however, attempted to blend in the old/new texture. The result was that the old texture stomped with the new on top of it looks pretty bad. It's thicker than the entire ceiling and also resulted in it's own little pattern (in essence now we have 3). This was done a bit over 24hrs ago. We thought when we painted it would look better but instead it looks more noticeable/worse. HELP! Is it possible to try and achieve a uniform look now - maybe rolling with a deep nap brush the entire ceiling w/more drywall compound? or re-stomping/doing the entire ceiling? can we scrape the new area plus the overlapped part only with some amount of ease after this short? or are we doomed to scrape the entire ceiling for uniformity.
It doesn't have to be perfect just so it doesn't catch your eye so darn quickly while you are sitting on the pot! LOL!
