bc, thank you for your response. I have read the other postings and question if they are a solution for my problem. Today I checked the attic and found the attic humidity and outside humidity within 2% of each other. The attic temperature is 8 degrees (F) warmer than the outside temperature. From the previous readings I was wondering if condensation on the roof sheeting was occuring because of this temperature difference. If so, I thought a solution would be to insulate the attic area from the roof sheeting. I was planning to leave a 3" air sprace between sheeting and attic that would allow air flow from the soffit to the ridge vent. I would also leave an opening at the peak for attic air to be syphened out through the ridge vent. In the meantime I will check to ensure there is no blockage at the soffit and if so correct.
