Stepped dowels

Posted by Henry in MI on February 26th, 2003 06:32 AM

Has anyone used the new stepped dowels made by Miller Dowel Co. yet? What did you think? These are for joining wood using a glued in stepped dowel. Aside from furniture, they are supposedly usable for decks and similar applications.

Are woods other than birch available yet? They say that the dowels will be available in cherry, red oak and walnut. An ipe deck with white oak or white cedar pegs would really look neat and last forever, eh?
