Hi Tom, and M.Zobe, first thing to buy are some cotton gloves, ( I'll tell what they are for later) now I do it like this, find the hight you want, that is just below any pipes/cable/beams and any other things that are hanging from your high geiling ( lets call that the roof) ok, you wont get mixed up when I say fix your ceiling to the roof. now, you have found the level you want, fix a lath 1.1/2" x 3/4" which is plained now paint that black mat, fix the lath around the walls to the hight you want. next you will have a steel/alu strip which is "L" shaped, nail this to the black lath, but let it hang down below about 1/16", if you have some funny courners you can butt joint one but the other you can cut at a 45deg. and it will help to make the courner look good, you will have some hangers ( rods the will hand from the "roof" to the new ceiling space them out at around 4ft apart. most panels are 4ft x 2ft or 2ft x 2ft, start from the centre of the room ( I run a string ( line) from one side to the other, and the same on the other wall, so making a cross, start from the centre of one wall and run a strip that is "T" shaped, fix this to the hangers that you have already fitted, next you should have some small T strips ( 4ft or 2ft) depends on how you want your ceiling, Now clip them all together, making sure they are all in line. I have told you to start fixing the strips in the centre because when you come to the wall side it will be smaller than a panel and it will be even on both sides,. now put on the cotton gloves I told you about, and start to fit the panels. leave the last ones ( around the walls till last), I am sure you will want spot lights in the ceiling so allow for the holes to be in line along the ceiling, fit the lamps as you go. now you have only the side panels to cut. and thats about it....( the cotton gloves are to stop you getting finger marks on the panels,) and good luck John 2000.
