The house is built up on support posts and is accessable by wooden stairs front and back.
The builders attached 4X4's to frame and hang the stairs, but they simply placed the foot of the 4X4 into a metal bracket attached directly to the concrete slab. Over time, moisturer has degraded the metal brackets and rotted the base of the supports.

What's the best way to repair and reattach these posts? I'd like to splice in a new section and fit the bases into some sort of water resistant floor plate or holder.... Thanks
