In reply to How to Book on replacing carpeted stairs with hardwd by William Shirey on October 31st, 2002 10:28 AM [Go to top of thread]

I have seen where other people wrote to ask-
what is the best way to remove old carpet from stairs, and then replace it with wood floors. Is it possible to use the wood that is already present on the stairs and just sand and stain it?

If it is possible to use the old wood floors, then if there are holes left in the floors, then what is an easy way to repair the wood flooring?
