Matthew, I'm not familiar with the sprayer you're thinking of purchasing but if it has the quart bottle attached to it, I wouldn't even try to use it on the ceiling. You can use it but you'll spend a lot of time filling the bottle. The sprayer with the hose that goes into the paint can and has a hose to the spray head is much better for large jobs. It, in my opinion, gives a much better spray pattern, does a better job and is quicker than the small hand held units. Sometimes it takes longer to properly clean the unit than it does to do the job but the results are more professional. As was stated, if the texture starts coming off on the roller you have a mess and it's really hard to keep the texture from coming off when rolling. Just my two cents.
