All I'm concerned about is that the joists are being supported well by this system. I'm not concerned about the roof load because I know it's bearing on the microlam.
We changed the plans a little after talking to the structural engineer. Orginally, the microlam was going to directly support the joists by having hte joists terminate at the microlam. Then we decided we didn't want the microlam to hang down and disrupt the ceiling line. So not the joists are hanging off the microlam and then terminate at a 2 X 6.
We can't afford to call a structural enginner back in. We did pull a permit so we will have it inspected. I guess I just wanted a little reassurance that the inspector will pass it.
