I would recommend going to a specialty tile shop such as The Tile Shop, which caters to both Do-It-Yourselfer's and Pro's. I am a DIY and I a so thankful that I was referred them by a tile business that could not help me, as they did consigment work only. The Tile Shop has their people walk around with you through the store to determine what you like, then help you match what you're working with and they calculate all the tile and other supplies you'll need. PLUS they have free classes every Saturday morning that you participate in. I took a 3 hour class and learned so much that helped me with my project(s). I am not a pro, but with a little knoweledge I am appreciating what the pro's really do know! The Tile Shop will help direct you to the proper materials and proceedures, much more so than HD where they don't have the time to spend, if the know how. I'm not knocking HD, I should own stock! But being realistic, they don't have the time to spend with you.
