Spanish tile--wax?

Posted by Casey on November 8th, 2001 10:33 AM

We have spanish tile, possibly terra cotta from the thirties, in our kitchen. It is very stained with a heavy grease build up. I have found a product called "Greased Lightening" that is absolutely incredible in removing this build up. BUT- it seems to also be removing the entire sealant finish,if there ever was one. So, I will be down to the bare tile when finished cleaning my floor.

What product can I use at this point to help seal and preserve these tiles? I've been told car wax, buffed in well, works nicely. And once sealed, can I use "Brite" to maintain the floor?

Other than a mop, I'll be doing this all by hand. Also, how can I remove old paint from the same floor?

Thanks for your help!........Casey
