someone might have tried to use some cleaner or wax or something that dulled the polyurethane. I would experiment with warm soapy water and see what happens. If that does now work try a mild cleaner.
You need something to "cut" this haze.
This is ONLY if this is sealed with polyrethane, if it has not been sealed, then something put on it has caused this reaction or hazing.
Get in a corner and apply some rubbing alcohol to a cotton cloth and lightly rub an area. This definately should "cut" the haze if its on poly.
