You are in northern NM in the mountains where the cold is extreme in the winter. Even in that case, I would think 2" of styrofoam (R10) would be good for under the slab towards the interior of the house. I would put 3 to 4 inches (R15 to R20) arount the perimeter if the winter temps get to -20 deg F.
