foundationation should be a piece of cake. the main problem is the specific knowledge of how the poles have been set; budget requirements; time limitations; soil conditions; ect.... i always suggest a structural engineer of repute and an architect that cares about you`re ideals and the final product. i`d insist on onsite inspections at each critical stage an expect written evaluations at each point and timed-monthly=inspections also. i`d also document the entire process myself with notes and photos as well as vidoes. i do this on almost all my projects as a service to my owners and buyers. enjoy you`re retirement, but expect the remodeling to be involved and complicated. the final produt should be a joy.
