We are building a new home and wish to reduce the sound passage through the common wall between the family room and master bedroom. The wall is 2x4 studs with a pressboard shearwall on the bedroom side. Drywall will be installed soon.

What would be best type of insulation to install for sound problems. If batts, should they be paper or foil lined, or not lined at all. If lined, which side should go to which wall?

Thanks for your prompt reply. I have to squeeze in between the electrician and the drywaller and they just told me they are ahead of schedule...electrician is in this week.
