Sound-proofing question

Posted by Jack P. on October 4th, 1998 10:33 AM

I'm having an addition built onto my house and when the framing is completed, I will be removing the exterior siding in order to install paneling in the new addition room. Anyone have any ideas on how to soundproof the wall? My daughter's bedroom will be on the other side of my new workroom. I'm thinking about leaving the original insulation in the wall, adding a layer of drywall, then paneling over that. My workroom will consist of a draft table and a radio - no power tools involved here. I just don't want to disturb her at night when I'm up working late with my radio on and vise-versa. Thanks. Jack P. p.s.- this is my first post here. hope it doesn't display all on one line like it is while I'm typing it!
