Sound Proofing

Posted by Mr. Charles Franklin on August 8th, 2001 09:10 AM

Hello, I am relietivly new to home constuction but If any one could point me in the right direction that would be greatly apprecated. First I was wondering If I were to sound proof a room in a house non-specific size, would it be more benifical for me to do it myself, and would i be able to recreate what an actual sound proofer does somewhat. The other question is I am not sure of the space as of yet, I am still looking into renting a house at somepoint in time, which would be optimal, would being in a row home, townhome, or single unit make a difference. As most know a row home would be cheapest and most affordable, so i would be able to spend more in a row type housing unit. At this time I would beleive an apartment would be completely out of the question, but any suggestions as to locations that would work best for sound proofing would be greatly appercated.

Thank you
