Covered it pretty well.
Look in the phone book for Hardwood floor installers, These independent contractors will generally be cheaper than specialty flooring stores (besides who do you think does there installs). Check with a local building contractor and see who he uses.

When it comes to 3/4" solid unfinished hardwood flooring just make sure you compare HFMA grades,....Do not price #3 from one and #1 from another and then Select from yet another installer.
If you want consistant color go with Select, if you want a more traditional floor or are going with a dark stain use #1, If you really want a rustic floor (I mean RUSTIC), go with #3.

Also make sure that the installer is not using a bunch of "SHORTS" to lower the price, Make sure that they use a good mix of lengths from 1' to 5'+ long.

For finish, go with Swedish finish, and pay the extra for a 3rd coat of finish.
