I know what you mean! When someone actually convinces you to do some work when you were looking for an excuse to avoid it, it can be downright traumatic. One of the things that I like most about stripping paint is that if something good come up on TV, you can always rationalize and say that you haven't seen this Gomer Pyle, USMC rerun in a couple of years and the paint/stripper goo will be softer and easier to remove when the show is over.
My problem is that I then forget about the paint stripping until I wake up from my nap and wonder what that orangy smell is. By then, Sex And The City is on but I know that I will have a bigger mess and more work if I let it go longer.

The only saving thought for you is to check the model number again. They could have been mixed in the same bin at the store. If that doesn't work, then you should get it over and replace the switch. Sorry
