Andi, you sure have my sympathy. And what's really scary is that I now realize that some of the things I have done could have had the same result. I worked in gas stations when all the gas was leaded and there were plenty of times when I and others got splashed with gas. But another personal crusade that I have is methyl chloride in paint strippers. I was plain, flat crazy to have done some of the things I did back then. People might wonder why I am such a nut on reminding them to wear gloves and eye protection and have adequate ventilation when they are working with any stripper and why I suggest those that don't have methyl chloride. If you do a little research, you will see why. I see that OSHA has or is about to reduce the limit for industrial exposure. Stripping lead based paint with heat is another no-no for me, too.
