LINDA,

IF YOUR WATER BACKS UP ALMOST IMMEDIATELY, THEN THE BLOCKAGE IS RIGHT NEAR THE 'TOP' OF THE DRAIN. IF YOU TAKE OFF THE DRAIN COVER, YOU MAY BE ABLE TO SEE IT. IF YOU DON'T HAVE A DRAIN COVER (IN THE TUB), YOU NEED A SPECIAL TOOL TO UNSCREW THE DRAIN. (A PLUMBING SUPPLY HOUSE OR A HOME CENTER HAS THE TOOL. ALSO, ASK THEM WHAT YOU NEED TO PROPERLY 'REPLACE' THE DRAIN, I.E., PLUMBER'S PUTTY, ETC., ETC..)

IF YOU CAN'T GET AT THE BLOCKAGE READILY, YOU CAN TRY A SNAKE. (ASK THE STORE FOR ONE.) IF THAT FAILS, CALL A PRO. THE BLOCKAGE MAY BE A GOOD WAYS DOWN THE DRAIN. *STOP* USING THOSE CAUSTIC CLEANERS! IF THE 1ST OR 2ND TRY DIDN'T WORK, IT'S NOT WORKING. BESIDES, YOU CAN BE DAMAGING THE PIPES. AT WORST, CALL A PLUMBER. IT'S WHAT THEY DO ...

MY BEST TO YA AND HOPE THIS HELPS.

JAY J
