The beauty with vinyl is its ability to expand and contract in extreme weather conditions. However, when it gets very cold, you don't want to go banging your shovel on it to knock off the snow. Depending on the quality (or thickness) of the vinyl, you can break it. (BUT, if left alone, it's fine.)
Just make sure you talk to the Retailer about how cracking is handled in the warranty. My best to ya and hope this helps.
