We live in the northeast in a 2 year old home. When we purchased the home we had a fourth room roughed in over the garage, but it doesn't encompass the entire length/width of the garage. We finished off the room, meaning insulated the walls, drywalled, painted, and installed the rug. Now we have realized that our heating/cooling of the room is not like the rest of the home. We have determined that the heat/cold is coming from the floor, up from the unheated garage. As an added note, there is no attic above the bedroom. We now want to know what type of insulation, and what route do we take from here? Blow in insulation from the garage, from the bedroom, are there alternate types of insulation that would provide good results without the mess? Please help.
