Please explain how to correct, cure, get rid of smoke damage behind walls ad between hardwood flooring and boards below the hardwood flooring? My house had a bad fire and two-thirds of the home is going to be gutted. It is a one story ranch and was built around 1950. There is an air space between the interior walls and exterior block walls. Also, the basement ceiling where the fire started is the floors for upstairs. My simple mind can only see all the walls and floors removed and replaced. I am told that if I do not totally get rid of all the smoke damage that I will continue to be haunted with smoke smell on hot humid days for a long time. Am I correct in my assumption to remove the walls and floors to thoroughly correct the smoke damage problem? Thank you for your time. I look forward to your response. Dave
