Nick, when I was in the service, in the Planning Section, we were prohibited from using styrofoam as insulation because of the high toxic smoke rating. It's wonderful insulation and 2 inches of stryofoam equal 3 1/2 inches of fiberglass, but it puts out an excessive amount of toxic smoke if it catches fire. I know people use it all the time, but that's just my opinion. Hope it helps.
