Smallest vs. Nicks, Scratches.....

In reply to Two Car Garage Width by Mike on August 5th, 2002 10:03 AM [Go to top of thread]

I currently have a "two" car garage that is 20 feet in width. Well, really 19'8" inside dimension. I can get both cars in it, but it is a pain. My wife and I have to be very careful not to bang one or the other car while getting in or out. Also, taking out the lawn mower or garbage can, etc., one has to be very careful not to scratch the cars.
If you have small children, forget it. The dents will be a given. A 2 door car takes more room to get in and out than a 4 door.
My opinion is a 22 foot width should be the minimum, but I suppose if you drive subcompacts, you could get by with a 20 foot garage.
Bigger is better!
