Slippery tile a problem

Our home is an older, fixer upper. We can't
afford to rip out all the tile, which was
just installed by the previous owner prior
to our purchasing the house. We can live
it awhile until our budget allows, however,
is there any way you know of to rough up
ceramic tile that is very slippery
when wet? There is high gloss tile on
the front porch, in the entry hall and
in the bathroom. During the rainy season
these areas are lethal!!!! I have slipped
several times myself. Is there a
way to acid wash or sand blast them to
get rid of the high gloss finish and make
these areas safe for everyone without
ripping out the existing tile???
