slab vs crawl space

There are certain advantages and disadvantages.

Slab homes are more difficult to heat during winter. But during summer they are great. Therefore, if you have carpeting, have a nice thick pad. Tiles feel icy cold during freezing winter outside and so they draw away the heat.

Slabs are great for leaks if you ever have any, just dry it. If you plan to retire there then if repairs are needed, the ground needs to be dug up.

crawlspace homes stand up and look majestic

High ceilings make heating of a slab home even more difficult. Some might then choose to insulate the inside walls also. Sound proof and reduce heating bills.

Good luck. Probably go for a crawlspace home.
