SIP's for subfloor, and Timber Framing in general

Posted by Cadman on February 14th, 2000 06:15 AM

Hi one and all,

Back again from a long hiatus. Got a new bee in my ear, Timber Framing. Any info out there about using Insulspan panels as a subfloor for a timber framed structure? Have done a lot of searching on the web about SIP's, saw it mentioned that they could be used as subfloor, but none of the "hows". HOW does one support them? HOW far can they "clear span" and under what loads? HOW does one connect them to the timber frame? Do the timber frame posts sit on top of the panel (not a HOW but close)? Etc. . .etc. . .etc.

Any info would be greatly appreciated, as I want to start construction as soon as I can, here on the MA/NH border, (figure around the middle of March).

If you email me, could you attach drawings and/or sketches, Pleeeease?
