Single pole light switch with receptacle always hot

Posted by Pete P on December 8th, 2002 07:47 PM

I have one such switch and it runs a couple of lights and has a receptacle that is always hot. It has a small light indicator built-in that glows when the light switch is turned on. I thought this was there so you could find the light switch in the dark in which case it should be on when the switch is off. Mine goes on when the light switch is turned on. Anyone clue me in here?
