In reply to Siding your house by Bruce M on April 19th, 1998 04:54 PM [Go to top of thread]

I need help. Some friends of ours were dog sitting for us
and our dog got spooked and tried to gain entry through a vent
in the side of the house. In the process tore
up a couple of pieces of siding. the siding is
plastic and is molded so that when you look at it each piece is seperate
but in fact there are two slats molded into on piece of siding, then nailed'
up to the house. This is an old house and we nor do the friends
have any idea what kind of siding / name of manuf. it is.
They do not want to ask their land loard for fear of getting into trouble.

My question is, do you you think a contractor would come out to the house
for free to estimate the cost to replace? Or what do you recomend
we do to replace this amount of siding? I have called sears, no luck. I have called around to differant
places with no luck and I've checked the yellow pages. Help, if you can thanks Tim
