In reply to Fiber-cement siding by Suni on February 6th, 2002 03:32 PM [Go to top of thread]

I own a home built in 1775. My goal of this home is to have the charm and style of the 18th century with the upkeep of a 21st century home. The home is in dire need of siding. I have estimates on Alcoa Vinyl, Hardiplank and Cedar. Cedar is great but I think that the level of maintnenance is too high for my preference. What do you think about the Hardiplank and Alcoa Vinyl options. As a note I have replace all of my windows with tan vinyl windows from Mercury Excellum and they look great.
