I have not been able to get anyone to restore the shower pan in one of the bathrooms in our home. A very reputable restorer told us it could not be restored because it is not fiberglass, but a plastic with a fiberglass coating. He said that any sanding to prepare it for painting will cause the hairs in the fiberglass to get lose and become unmanageable.

I went to a local hardware store and the following product: Zynolyte Klenk's Epoxy Tub and Tile Enamel. The instructions state it can be used on porcelain, plastic, tile and/or ceramic, but requires light sanding before application. I'm hesitant to proceed based on what the reputable restorer stated above. Are you familiar with the Zynolyte product and, if so, do you think I can use it? Is there any other advice you can provide?

Thanks in advance for your help,
