I'm framing up a walk-in shower in the basement and I have some questions about the shower curb. The building code requires it to be 2-6 inches high after finishing. Does anyone have a good recommendation for the width of the curb?
I could lay a 2x4 flat to get 3 1/2 inches before adding the backerboard, shower pan, tile, etc., but I would rather go with less to save precious floor space. Can I get by with using a 1 1/2 inch wide curb (before backerboard & tile) if I attach it solidly to the floor and side walls so it won't have any rollover tendency or flex? Thanks, Billy
