sheathed electrical cable & Coax

Posted by Andrew in NY on October 2nd, 2001 11:38 AM

I am planning to run a new dedicated circuit to my entertainment center. At the same time, I would like to run coax for the cable TV. To save time, I would like to pull both at the same time, but wasn't sure if the 110v line would cause problems for the Cable TV if the two lines were touching at any point.

I was planning on using 12/2 for the circuit, and standard coax. They will not be tied together, just pulled through the same holes through walls, etc. Was also planning on running them to a double-gang box receptacle with an outlet and coax connector behind the entertainment center.

Does anybody know if I need to ensure that the two cables do not touch?
