lawnmower blades tend to taper after long or contiuous use. when you sharpen the blades keep in mind that the taper was not the orriginally and needs to be ground out. If dureing this process you lose more than a half inch of the original blade width the blade should then be replaced as a thin blade becomes a danger to the operator and those around them.
Bruce noted that the blade needs to be balanced while it is being sharpened. Keep in mind this is very important. Proper blade balance will decrease wear and tear on your equipment and prevent premature failure.
a blade balancer can be bought for about five dollars at most supply stores
