first thing i would do is call your local health dept. they may have on file a copy of the septic permit and this would tell you where how big and who installed it. if not able to get permit the septic isnt real hard to find you have 2 4 by 8 foot boxes your looking for we try to find out where the sewerline leaves the house that tells what side of the house the septic is on then we have a probing rod that we push into the ground to locate the concrete tanks if i cant find it in a few min. i flush a transmitter down the toilet and locate it with a reciver if you cant find the tank and can afford to you could pay a septic pumper to find it for you find out cost to find the tank and cost to pump we charge $75 to find tanks and a double tank system cost $250 to pump
