Septic lines-Tree roots

We have a Weeping willow near our septic drain lines. Not the Actual septic tank but the lines that run out of the septic tank. Our tank is at the back side of the house and the drain lines (not sure what you call these) run from the tank up the side of the house and out to the front yard. The Weeping willow is about 10 feet from the lines. Maybe not exactly, I just remember when the lines were dug when the septic system was put in about where they were, plus the grass grows greener there. My father said we should cut the tree but it was expensive and is very beautiful and to big to try to move somewhere else in the yard. Is there a product that you can put into your septic that will kill the roots and keep the lines from being damaged?
Thank you,
Sheri Stanley
