I have a Craftsman riding mower, model 502.256220. The gas tank began leaking at a seam this past summer. I called the local Sears parts warehouse and was told there was a recall on these plastic gas tanks and they placed an order for a replacement from the factory. This was 8/22.
It is now approaching four months and the part is still on order. Since it is a "factory order", Sears says they have no visibility into the status of the order or how much longer it might take. I think four months is absurd.
Anyone else out there in the same predicament? Anyone know what is happening on this recall, if the factory is just that far behind or what? Basically I am left completely in the dark here and it's very frustrating, especially when I usually get such outstanding service from Sears.
