Sealing Bricks???

Posted by Larry on April 16th, 2003 01:04 PM

I have a 1922 Chicago bungalow. In the back of the home, along one side of a wall, the facing of some bricks has begun to crack off. I believe the bricks are still structurally sound and the problem was probably caused by water running down from the roof when the previous owners were there.

There is no more water running down, but I want to see if I can somehow seal the bricks with a clear epoxy or something to keep moisture out and prevent further damage.

Is this possible? Are there any specific products anyone recommends? I don't want to run into problems in our cold winter, but would like to seal the wall, if possible. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
