before you apply the wallpaper remover. You can buy one at any hardware store. It leaves little holes in the paper so the remover can get to the glue. I've done many times and the ease depends on the type of wallpaper and adhesive. After the wallpaper is all off I always wash the whole wall with the remover again to get off any residual glue which may not be visible until you put paint over it, then you have to paint and scrape at the same time to get a nice clean look. Take your time and do it right, after all you'll be looking at the walls everyday
