Don't think you can rip or crosscut a sheet of plywood with a miter saw. I think your best bet would be a contractors saw, and as much as you can afford. A lot of your answer depends on the kind of work you want to do. Keep in mind that you cannot dado to 3/4" on a lot of the cheaper/smaller contractor saws also. Be sure and check the saw manual if this is an issue as a lot of the sales people don't know what the equipment will do. Good luck.
