Hi, Why dont you make a simple bench which will
last you for years ( and if you as old as me then
they will last a life time).
I find plywood is ideal,
(a)Top: 8" x 36" x 3/4".... 1
(B)ends (2) 6" 2'6" x 3/4"....2
(C)floor 6" x 2'6" x 3/4".....1
(D)sides 5" x 2',8.1/4" x 3/4....2
(E)legs? 18" x 4" x 3/4"......2

(A) draw two lines across both ends about 6"
This is where you will put (B) making a "U".
turn the "U" upside down and fit (C) making a box
that has two overhangs on (A) "fit (C) between (B)s
on the bottom, now you should have 2(D)s screw dont nail
the two (D)s one on each side of the box at the (C) end
this will make a box within a box (I hope) now you have your
base, now screw the two (E)s to the outside of the box
on the (C) part(bottom) at 90deg.
You should now have a workbench for small jobs, for bigger jobs
make two.....

Good Luck.
