Saw for Cutting Openings in Brick Wall

Posted by Billy on August 8th, 2001 03:14 PM

I want to cut a couple of openings in a brick over block wall so that I can install vents in my attic gables. The two openings will be about 20 x 20 inches and 21 X 27 inches.

Should I use a DeWalt diamond blade like the one below in my circular saw? I don't mind having to make a second cut on the opposite side of the wall.

Or should I rent one of the smaller (12 inch) gas-powered concrete saws?

If the diamond blade in my circular saw will do the trick, then I'll go with it because I get to keep the blade for other projects.

Thanks in advance!
